This ability to cope well with under pressure, adversity, and uncertainty that our jobs can throw at us rely on developing adaptive thoughts, behaviours and actions. When these become habits they become just how we are in the world. It’s easier to create strategies then to increase your resilience power and ultimately your hardiness.
Different methods you can use boost your resilience at workplace
Here are some of the strategies that you can use for boosting your resilience at your work and allowing you to cope more effectively with stress;
- Cherish the social support and interactions you have at work and in your personal life. Good bonding with your family and friends are also vital. Being active in the wider community will help you to a greater extent as well. We are a highly social species which means we thrive when we connect!
- Treat problems as learning processes. This allows space & separation allowing you to feel more control and hence less stress. It will also mem you will acquire some new skills along the way boosting your feelings of autonomy.
- Try not to stretch a situation of crisis. Stress and changes are parts of life and how we interact and respond defines who we are. To build good resilience sometimes all we need to keep as calm as possible and let the situation pass.
- Celebrate every moment of success. Take some time out for yourself at the end of the day and review want went well and congratulate yourself. It will bring out the positivity and you will be able to build a positive attitude and resilience that will help you in coping with stress.
- Develop realistic life goals and try to achieve them in real-time small steps. As you see the progress daily it will reinforce the habit that you can cope and take control.
